A warm welcome to Christiane Heisse, who joined our team in May 2025
Christiane is a political economist with a strong interdisciplinary background in the critical social sciences. She strengthens our teaching in the quantitative methods domain and on critical takes on the economy-environment nexus. Before joining the Chair of Economic Geography in Bayreuth, I worked towards my PhD in development economics at SOAS. During this time, I also was a visiting doctoral student at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society at the Ludwig Maximilian Universität in Munich.
