On April 22nd, we celebrated Leiyo Singo’s successful defence of his thesis titled “Contested Lands, Life and Livelihoods in Tanzania: Maasai Pastoralists’ Ontologies of Land Futures”. Leiyo Singo now returns to the University of Dar es Salaam, where he takes up a position.

He joined the Chair of Economic Geography and the Bayreuth Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS)) via the BATATA project (where you can read more about his work) and became an indispensable member of the team.
